Argentina (without seal)
The flag of Argentina is a light blue and white triband with a yellow “Sun of May” in the center. It was adopted on February 12, 1812, four years before Argentina declared independence from Spain (1816). There are multiple interpretations on the reasons for those colors. The full flag featuring the sun is called the Official Ceremonial Flag. The flag without the sun is considered the Ornamental Flag. Both versions are equally considered the national flag.
