One version of the flag of Burma (known as Myanmar) was adopted on January 3, 1974 upon the declaration of a socialist republic. The flag depicted 14 stars, encircling a gear and a rice plant (the logo of the Burma Socialist Programme Party) in a blue-colored canton against a red field. The rice stands for agriculture, the gear represents industry, and the 14 stars represent each of the 14 member states of the Union. This version of the flag was replaced with a new design on October 21, 2010.

3′ x 5′ nylon flag with pole sleeve and gold fringe for indoor use.
